Hi Gang , With today being the first full day of summer, i thought it would be to do a little survey!! Aside from anyone having their surgery this summer, like me, what is the 1 thing you are excited to do during the rest of the summer?? This could be fun! For me, it is a toss up......I am so much looking forward to settlement () on a new home that i just bought, but probably just ahead of that will be my upcoming cruise!! I will be sailing the beautiful Eastern Caribbean from August 7th-14th, and i simply cannot wait!! Ok, you're next! What will be the 1 or 2 summertime things that you are looking forward to?? -Joe-

I will be on vacation in Frisco of the Outer Banks in North Carolina the week of August 1st.......right before your vacation Joe!! Other then that, I am just enjoying the summer of activities with things I could never enjoy before! Hope

No specific plans for the summer. Just got back to work after my surgery,so it will be hard to do anything for a little while. I do hope to take a trip to St. Louis to visit my sister the first week of August. Ken

Hi Joe, Great post idea. We are taking our annual camping trip the week of July 5th. Every year we spend a week at a place called Knoebels in PA. An amusemen****er park / campground. I plan on riding EVERYTHING! Before I just stuck with the stupid rides that would accomodate everyone, not this year! Later in the Summer / Fall we will be heading for W. Virginia and Harper's Ferry. Love it down there, it's so beautiful. Once before I tried to do the Maryland Heights Hike, it's pretty challenging for someone in shape lol, alot of it straight UP. I couldn't finish to the end, this year I plan on climbing to the rock face that looks out over the valley. One more thing looking forward to is paintball. My hubby and kids are big fans and my youngest son ( he's 13 ) thinks Mom can't kick his butt...lol he better think again. Other than that I will mostly be playing Mom's taxi. Seems I always have to drive someone somewhere. I just have alot more energy to do it minus 60 pounds!

Wow, Linda Knoebels!!! that is one of my most favorite places to go. I had a bad experience there one year, that was the year I realized that I don't fit on all rides. I got on this ride, it was like a parachute it shoots up in the sky then floats down, well after they got everyone loaded the girl pushed the button to start and it would not go up, you could hear it struggling. So she asked a few people to get off then she tried again, nothing, I looked at my husband and I knew what he was thinking, well needless to say I never tried anything like that again! I was so gratefull that I wasn't asked to get off. I am spending a week at the Cecil County fair, my daughter is doing heardsman, for 4-H and she will be keeping a horse there and I will be her chaperone. I think I will need a vacation after that week. I am trying to save my leave. Hopefully surgery in Nov-Dec. We may take a weekend trip to OC Md. other than that I am alot like Linda just taxi driver for my kids.

Linda.....I have never been to Knoebels, but i've heard that the amusement park is awesome. It always has one of the roller coasters listed in the top 10 on the discovery channel's "thrills chills and spills"!! Have a great time!! Dana.......as for the Cecil County Fair....I've been there before!! In fact when i used to work at a radio station in Cecil County (1550 am WSER), we broadcasted from there all week long!! I actually remember doing reports from the 4-H area!! I remember one year when the protesters swam in the pool where the diving mules were jumping into. It made some headlines too! lol -Joe-

Saving all my time from work for my surgery in late Aug. Baseball is now finished, although I miss it, I like a little resting time after that. I'm thinking about all the stuff I want to do next year! I, too, will be driving for Mom's Taxi Co. Joe you are a busy bee this summer. Just think about next summer, there'll be no catching up to you, lol. Dianne

Good idea for a poll, Joe! I will be an August loser too and for some reason today it finally hit me I am having surgery and it's going to be SOON! I think summer will fly by! I am planning way too much!!!!! I have family and close friends all over the country, (NJ, CA, FL) and I'd like to visit some of them. I'll most likely head to the Jersey Shore to see my sister and her family. Florida and California will have to wait! My birthday is mid-July so I'll also be celebrating that, (or maybe not, I haven't decided if 46 is worth celebrating)! Also, I have started a home-based business, I am a free-lance writer, and I hope I can continue to build up my contacts. So much to do, so little time! Do you believe I am finally saying that? Does anyone remember my posts in April/May when I was AGHHHH over when I would finally have my surgery! Kit
