Miss you all ... and gym recommendation please?
Hi GUYS!!!
I sure do miss you all ... A LOT!!!
Hope to have the computer fixed and back up to normal real soon!!!
Question ... I am looking into a gym membership and don't even know where to start. Had considered Curves, but I am really needing more than just circut training. I am thinking a personal trainer, for at least one session ... who knows ... I know it has to be very expensive and all, but my back has been hurting and I need to do something to kick start my weight loss once again. Guess my body has gotten used to my routine around the house. All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Hugs,
Tammy

WOW it's great to see you post!! I've been thinking of you and hoping your computer would be up and running soon.
As far as a gym membership - I don't belong - but need to - I've thought about the Y in Elkton, but guess I'm nervous about "working out" in the "public eye"....
Hope all is well with your family. I'll give you a call this week.

Hi Carla~
Exercise plays such a HUGE part in our success. I also am in need of a buddy to work out with. Timing seems to be my greatest problem in trying to squeeze in exercise time. I heard you mention the Y in Elkton which is a great facility and has loads of equipment. As far as the "public eye" goes....pretend they have cataracts! LOL! Have a great day!~Jane

Great idea - pretending they have cataracts.... I have always had "issues" about what people think about me - I was hoping that with this surgery, as I lose the weight - I would lose that issue....still waiting...I'm almost 1/2 way to goal - maybe in losing second 100 pounds I'll gain more confidence...
You've done great! Your one year is anniversary is almost here You should update your pic!

Hi Tammy, Missed you girl. I have belonged to Kirkwood Fitness for over 15 yrs. Membership is pretty low for me. They have personal trainers there who work with you. They have circuit, weights, nautalis and elipitic machines plus a pool. I do it all. However you might look into a family membership at the YMCA so your little ones can go to. I did go to PMRI for an exercise evaluation and can share it with you. I made copies for anyone that wants them. Cost was $90 and the trainer there pretty much concurred with the trainers at Kirkwood. I won't say it was a waste of money, but you can share the exercises I got. Why pay again. Good to hear from you. Good luck. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Hi Tammy,
Glad you are back and hope you are doing well. I go to a gym in West Chester, PA called ACAC Fitness Center. It has been great, and I actually enjoy going almost every night. They have four swimming pools (1 indoor/outdoor), available personal trainers, pilates, spinning, weight-on dancing, and all sort of aerobic classes going on every night. It is really a very sophisticated Y since it is built to serve families. They have IKEA-like childcare dropoff, a cafe and almost every convenience you would ever need. The worst thing about the place is that it is about a 20-minute drive for me every day each way. You might want to look into three gyms that have personal trainers: Jewish Community Center, YMCA, and PMRI. Nutrition and Exercise and Pro Physical Theraphy are two other gyms that seems to cater to improving health and not just lifting weights. Not sure about cost on any of those places. The hardest thing for me is picking a place where I didn't feel intimidated by all the hard bodies doing the lifting. Good to go check out the facility you are interested in attending at the same time you be going. Also try and find a place that doesn't make you sign up to a long-term contract unless your positive you will be going all the time.
Nice to have you back.
Rob
