HELP-VACATION
Cynthia,
I found the ready to go protein in the bottles a great help when I am away from home. A little more expensive but oh so worth it to me to help ensure that I kept my protein levels up. I packed a cooler with ice and threw my drinks in it to help ensure that I got that all important protein in, even on vacation (well in my case it was actually a conference - but same idea). I also packed cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, a couple of boiled eggs ... other food items that I am used to that give me protein. I stopped by super walmart and restocked when needed to keep the good stuff easily at hand. It is easy to fall off and or eat things that don't agree with you during a time like this, but I tried to help avoid it by keeping things that had been proven winners readily available. I also took along some other items and requested a room with a microwave. Also, i was simply amazed at all my good choices when shopping and eating out. The market truly is more friendly to us right now than in the past.
Best wishes and remember to enjoy your vacation. One word of warning ... When I dived into the pool for the first time this year, I fully expected that I would float like normal (no effort on my part) ... well ... it didn't happen like that for me ... I sank straight to the bottom of the pool. Like a lead weight!!! I found that while I used to have great floatable "bouies" as my son always called them *grin* ... suddenly, I no longer have the great floaters to keep me easily afloat ... soooooo beware and be prepared to not float as easily as you have in the past!!! *giggles*
Enjoy yourself and don't stress ... you will do great!!!
Hugs,
Tammy
Hi Cynthia, I went to Florida and Vegas in May. I took my protein powder with me and my Tupperware shaker cup. I also took some protein bars, just in case. In Vegas, I went down every morning with my cup and asked for skim milk and a bowl of oatmeal. I'd eat the oatmeal and put the milk in the shaker, mix the Isopure powder in & drink it 1/2 hour later. Soup for lunch and soup & salad for diner. In Florida we were in a condo so I took my Isopure powder, Unjury with crystal lite and mixed away. I went to the grocery store and did the same thing I would have done at home. When we went out, I always got soup and shared whatever Charlie got. I only ate little bites of his. That's why he said what a cheap date I was. All I got was soup. Don't worry, you'll do okay. Where are you going? People will work with you with mimimal information. Charlie always tells them I had surgery. It does evoke a little more understanding. I just don't give them too much info. He sure will if he can get their ear. Don't worry. Have a good vacation. You need one after all this. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi Cynthia,
I am gong away to the beach for a few days starting tomorrow. I am taking some individual containers of cottage cheese and some yogurt. I don't use a blender for my protein shakes, I use a shaker cup I bought at the dollar store and love it! If you can handle protein bars take some of them (I don't like any of them). Also while eating out try to get chicken or turkey or fish which have the highest protein counts for meat. You will be fine. It's not as difficult as it might seem!
Have a great vacation!! Hope
