I want to thank everyone for their support and info. I must say after 3 hours and crying hysterically on 141 i finally found PMRI so I should be aboe to get to the meeting i have with the nutricianist on tues. I must say though Im not sure if Im ready for this roller coaster ride. I have so many up and down days, but Im just going to keep trudging through. Reading all your posts helps a lot thank you so much for sharing. P.S. I bought the Isopure glass bottled drinks to try them. I cant get passed the after taste how do you all do it?

Kristina, Hang in there. This is definately an emotional journey, but well worth the results. I cannot stand Isopure. Just keep trying other drinks, til you find one you like. The Optifast resource drink that Pmri has is really good. It's twelve grams of protein. If you ask Julie, she will give you a sample. Best wishes. Deb

Emotional roller coaster it indeed is!! The closer you get to your surgery date the worse it gets.... Hang in there, it is well worth it! As for the protein supplements... what you may like now, may not work/taste good post-op. I liked one from Unjury. Check out Unjury.com, they had sent me a free sample. Good Luck in your journey!!

Hi Kristina, Keep your chin up! You will definately have ups and downs. I am still in my pre-op stage, but i am nearing the end. I have 1 more Life Skills class, and my surgery date is scheduled for August 25th. There are so many good people on this board that no matter how emotional i get, I can always read the posts and feel so much better. On top of that, when you actually meet these people for the first time, it is so incredible because it seems that they are mcuh nicer in person than on the message board.....if that's at all possible!! I have met some wonderful people during my journey that have helped me so much. Like i said, I am scheduled for surgery in August and i am so much looking forward to it. No matter what positives or negatives come my way, it won't change my mind. I have researched and studied this surgery and came to the conclusion that Dr.'s Wynn and Irgau are the best, and I am in good hands with them....and you will be too! Don't get discouraged, and if you do, e-mail anyone of us or simply put a post on the message board and you'll definately see the responses from people who care!! take care! -Joe-

Kristina, I bought 2 cases of the Isopure in bottles. I tried them pre-op and I liked them. After surgery it made me sick. I brought them both back. I do like the Isopure strawberry powder with skim milk. 60 grams of protein total. I use unflavored Unjury in Crystal Lite Red Grapefruit & classic orange. MMMMM. 20gr in the 2 qts. I also have Protein Delite lemon that I trade off on when I need variety. It also has 20gr in it. The 1st two I buy at the Vitamine store. The 3rd I got at Carb Busters. You are so right about the up & downs. Everyday is a new adventure. I wouldn't trade it for a million bucks though. I've met so many beautiful people along the way. ((HUGS)) Elissa
