Insurance ??
I know, sorry guys, yet another insurance question. Since I will be offficially retired in August and I am bridging, I might have to change my insurance. Want to know how United Health care is to deal with? My other choice is BC/BS, I now have Aetna and I already know how they are. My Primary Care office accepts alll 3. I'll check with Dr. Irgau's office too. Thanks Elissa
Sorry to be jumping around so much with my replies (too much coffee today, I still haven't broken the caffiene habit)!!!!
Ken,
You have the same insurance and I do and I agree. They have been great. What's this about not accepting Dr. Baag? Do they accept Dr. Lenhardt? I've only seen Dr. Lenhardt but my post-op (YIKES, IT FEELS WEIRD TO SAY post-op...) is with Dr. Baag. I have plenty of time to change it since I have my surgery in August, making the followup in October. Thanks for the info.

I have BC/BS They are good but their programs vary widely from employer to employer based on what program the employer has purchased.
For example....
With Bank 1 I had no deductable for things like hospital stays and if I were to be admitted after an ER visit - the ER fee was waived
With Catholic Diocese of Wilmington - I hay a $10 doctor copay and $5 or $10 prescriptions... BUT I have an 20% coppay on everything until I reach my $1,000 personal deductable for everything like hospital stays, any testing, like x-rays, lab work, any surgeries. And each family member has their own $1,000 deductable.
Which is not that great when you consider we pay about $300 a month for the coverage we have now verses paying about $175 for what I had with Bank 1. Smaller program.
What I am getting at is this - BC/BS is a good company - but don't neglect looking into the exact plan each of these bridge thingies are offering you. Things like full coverage verses 80/20 coverage make a big difference.
