Hi everybody, I'm baaaaack!
Well I am now an Official Loser!
I had my surgery on 5/19/04 and I have been home from the hospital since last Friday, I'm just amazed that I feel so well. As for the hospital stay it was ok, the hospital beds suck, I couldn't wait to get home to my own bed . You know the old saying, "there is no place like home" how true!
I have been walking in the morning at the Christiana Mall with my husband (my drill sergeant) he has been so supportive. So far I haven't had any dumping or nausea... knock on wood! I do take a nap in the afternoon for two hours if I need it; I'm learning to listen to my body. The pureed food really hasn't been bad, I can only eat about 2 oz at each meal, but I am getting my required protein in and the water.
Now for the bad news, A week before surgery, I found out that my son and his wife were leaving Alexandria, Virginia and moving to California, which was bad enough. Then 4 day after surgery I found out that my daughter, son-in-law, and my three beautiful grandkids are moving to Georgia in August. Needless to say I'm heartbroken, I am very close to my daughter and my grandkids (my angels) they all make me smile! I gonna miss them so much.
On a more positive note, I still have my Mom, my two sisters and my brother and their families here in Delaware. At least when I fly to Georgia or California I will fit better in the seats!
I want to thank Sandy H for being my angel it meant so much to me, you will always be special to me. Also, thanks to everyone for your support and prayers I couldn't have done it without you guys, you're the best!
Hope to see you guys at the next PMRI support meeting.
((hugs to all))

Way to go Patti! Congrats sorry to hear about the move. I'm sure that is very heartbreaking...but now you get a new place to travel to for a change of pace and like you said will be able to sit better in the seats! Now THATS something to look forward to Best of luck to you! Congrats again

Hi Patti, Good to have you back. Sounds like you are doing good. Sorry about the kids moving, but like Elizabeth said, now you'll have places to visit in far away places. Somehow I think it takes a little stress off of us. My kids live close by, and I see too much and sometimes disagree which is on me. I don't say much but I still worry. Grandkids are the best. I have 3. I love them dearly, but sometimes I am glad they all go home to their own homes.
Keep up the good work and let us know what & how you're doing. ((HUGS)) Elissa
