Got a DATE!!!!!!
Whoa, I GOT A DATE for my surgery. August 2, 2004. I want to personally thank everyone who has listened to me whine over the past month.
What can I say, I'm a big ole whiner and worrier. I know many of you have bigger issues (with your insurance, having to redo tests, take extra classes, etc) so I really should just be thankful everything has gone well for me. My EGD is scheduled for 6/14, my insurance company has already approved me...so here we go!
You all have been great support and encouragement. I know that the date could change for various cir****tances but I am feeling pretty good about it. I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. But hey, I guess it's the beginning of the tunnel since it will be a whole new life for me! This is one "loser" I will enjoy being!!!!!
In other ways I am also scared, because it is finally a reality to me. I know from chatting with you all this is normal. So now I will need you encouragement on that issue! I'm sure there will be more whining and worrying on my part! LOOK OUT!
But REALLY, thanks to everyone. I never would have made it this far without YOU!!!!!
Wow Ms. Kitty, I am soooooooooo happy for you It is very normal to be nervous, but you will do just fine. Take care, and again congratulations on your date. Oh and the EGD is a breeze, thanks to the great drugs they give you just make sure you have someone in the room with you to listen to the Doctors orders, because I didn't remember talking to the Doctor, my husband said I did, luckly he listened to what she said. Dana
Dana,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm sure I'll go through the whole range of emotions before this is finally done. And actually, it won't be "done," but just the new BEGINNING after the surgery!!!!
I appreciate the advice about the EGD. I've had several outpatient procedures where they gave me those sleepytime drugs -- one time it was eye surgery and I remember laying there thinking "hey someone is cutting my eye," BUT WHO CARES, and could they possibly turn off that bright light???? I assume I'll be equally as goofy with the EGD!
It's great I can count on my WLS friends like you for just about everything I need for support and advice. I'm sure I'll be out there with MANY more questions before August 2.
