grazing
the first couple of months post-op the only way i could get in enough food or protien was to graze all day. now that i am almost 9 months out i am able to eat more food.......so that means the grazing got out of control because i had made a habit out of it. eventhou i was making healthy choices in what i ate i knew it was becoming a problem. instead of just switching to doing 3 meals day, i make sure that i don't go more than 5 hours between my meals. this has helped soooooooooooo much. i might not be hungry when it is time for the next meal, but i have found that it is better to eat on time than to wait untill i am hungry. it gives me more control. it also helps me fight cravings for something that might not be so good for me. i know it's scary when you can suddenly eat more so i thought i would share on what has helped me.
Hi Fran,
Thanks for the tips! I understand you even though I am only almost through my 3rd month...I can eat! I can tolerate everything (cept cottage cheese for some weird reason) anyway...I feel like I can eat alot and I do get hungry. I was grazing on pumpkin seeds. Which arent that bad but they have all that salt in them and again...the training for the grazing is happening. Thanks for the reminder to be careful! Im scared already and only have lost five pounds so far this month. actually its been 5 pounds in 5 weeks. Thats only one pound a week. That seems sooooooo incredibly slow. But I am hoping my weight loss will quicken up a bit. I am eating carefully getting in my big doses of protein and my water and all healthy protein foods. No chips or junk. I even have been exercising - just starting into it. But the loss is sooo slow. I have to keep the faith it tends to get you down and push you toward those bad habits. Again thanks for the reminder
