Almost done with testing...
I have completed all my bloodwork (found out I have diabetes - blood sugar 340), the ticker is strong, my hiatal hernia isn't going to be a problem, and only have to do the test for the cpap machine... and then I'll be done!!! Can't wait for my second appointment with Dr. Miller in Seaford... Went to a support meeting last night in Camden... The people were great and so helpful...
I was wondering... Fran, do you ever go to those meetings??? I know you live in Harrington, so it's close... I'd enjoy meeting you and picking your brain some.
Hope everyone has a great day... Keep on losing and posting... I follow all of you religiously!
Pam
Hi Pam,
Congrats on getting all your pre-testing done. EEEK @ the blood sugar reading. I am type 2 diabetic and that's scary. If you want some unsolicited advice...oh, even if ya don't want it, a lil' thing like THAT never stopped me Anyway...really work on getting that number under control if you can. Lay off the white carby stuff like bread, potoatoes etc and that can help...also exercise like walking can greatly improve your insulin sensitivity ( your body's ability to actually be able to use the insulin you're producing ) and can help lower that number ALOT. Drinking lots of water can help in that area too.
Not sure how familiar you are with diabetes but being out of control can slow down your ability to recover and heal. Adding in the walking will also help strengthen your lungs to prepare you for surgery. All good things
Sounds like you are ready to go and I wish you lots of luck and an uneventful experience.
Linda
