Rob- Great job on the spinning class, they can be a really great work out. I haven't done one in a long time (and won't be for a while, because of my last surgery). Well this whole protein thing, you know that I can relate. Dr. Wynn's and Dr. Baag both told me that our goal should be 20-40. A normal person would be 40 plus. Knowing that we can't absorb or intake that much that is why our goal is 20. I know how dependable you are about getting your protein in and I am proud of you for that. Every little gram counts. I know you will find more ways to get in that extra dose. For some reason your body either used more protein this month (were you sick or stressed or heavy on the exercise?) or it just didn't want to be absorbed. But I think that if you kick start it and shake things up a bit, by adding in more protein and doing a different exercise routine it will wake up your body and cells. It could just be that your body was getting used to its routine and needs to be mixed up. So we will go down this road together. I also know that it is good to use different brands of protein powders, each one gives us a little different nutrition. I alternate a couple of different ones. This is a great lesson for the new comers to see and know that it is so important to tract your protein levels every 3-4 months. Even though I am 15 months post op, I still track my levels 3-4 months. It has been said after year two that you can just get your level checked yearly...I don't think so. Your body changes so much that it is so important to stay on top of it. For example my protein was a 16 and four weeks later it was a 13. Then I will get it checked in July to see how much I have raised it. It was also a way for me to know that something wasn't right in my body. I was fighting an infection and then the whole hernia and bowel thing. The food wasn't getting absorbed. So the moral of the lecture is to stay with it and listen to your body. Keep going to the support meeting and keep asking for support. We are here for you. I hope to see you Thursday night for the meeting. I was not my best tonight for the PMRI meeting. Plus we already did that one last week, but I was still going to go, but too much pain. Hugs and Keep your chin up! Nicki

Hey Rob, Ditto to everyone else's comments. I'm sure you'll stay on top of the protein issue and resolve anything that can be. Spinners? A bike. UGGHHH. I hate bikes. I give you credit for all that you are doing. I missed this months meetings. I will not miss next months. I did my exercising while in Vegas. Hilton has a great fitness spa, walking track and pool. I was up & out early everyday and did good with my proteins and food. Payed to be prepared. The resturants were excellant about my food needs and really worked with me. Thanks again for the Unjury, I brought it and used it. ((HUGS)) Elissa
