re: vacation success
Hi everyone. I'm back from a week in sunny, warm Florida. 1st success is when I sat on the plane and put the seat belt on and had to pull it in 4/5" so it would be snug around me. Yippee no extension. Next miracle is I could get the table down and flat in front of me. 9" off the tummy means that the table fit. Of course they don't serve food on short flights, but I just had to put the table so I could see if it touched. I'm still reading posts and trying to respond. I lost 8 lbs while I was away. It was easier than I thought. I did good with my protein and water. I kept my food choices safe, and exercised in the water every day. I chose to walk up 3 flights of stairs instead of using the elevator. In the past this would have been impossibility for me to have done once, let alone 4 times a day. Everytime we went out to eat and I had the choice of a table or booth, I took the booth. What a feeling of accomplishment to be able to fit and be able to breathe. God is good. Life is good. I'll try to catch up with everyone. Good to be back. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Hi Elissa,
Welcome back! it sounds like you had a great vacation. How wonderful it must be to lose 8 lbs on vacation. I'm still pre-op so I would have gained 8 lbs or more on vacation....lol
I just found out that my Son is moving to California and I'm been thinking I'll never see him now. I have a hard time getting up the stairs in my house, how would I walk the airport with luggage.
I have to say after reading your post I was encouraged again. After WLS I will be able to walk and climb stairs without gasping and no extension for the seat belt on the plane! As for the choice of table or booth..... way to go a Elissa ..... the booth!
Thanks for sharing, you made my day!
((hugs))

Great to have you back. You must be a light weight now, since when you returned, they didn't even need to rebalance the neighborhood. Eight pounds on vacation is great, but walking up the three flights of stairs and putting the airline table down flat is fantastic. Did you get someone to take pictures? Look forward to seeing you soon. The next PMRI meeting on May 17 is about protein, and I think Julie does a great job, so I may be going for a second dose. Keep up the happy attitude!
