Hi everyone, Great news! I finally have my surgery date. It is Monday, July 19th!! Any helpful hints to get started on my countdown. Anything special I should bring to the hospital? I am truly a girls scout and believe in being prepared. I can't wait to be joining all you "LOSERS"!! See you all at the next meeting. PS: I attended the class at Super G and it was sooo helpful! I commented that "there is life after GBS!" Happy Moms Day everyone. Terre G

Hi Terre, I see your surgery date is July 19th. Congrats. I didn't make it to the meeting on May 1st, I was on vacation, got back yesterday. I feel like I missed a bunch of news. As far as the hospital all you'll need is chapstick. It will become your best friend. I did bring my toothbrush and mouthwash. As far as a gown, you'll use theirs. Try to get an ample one in pre-admission. It's safer & easier. They give you skid proof socks so you don't need to bring slippers. I did bring a brush and comb. I had my phone list made up so my hubby could call people. I did end up making some of the calls myself. I was up walking pretty quick. I was lucky to have Tina as my roomie. It was great having a looser as my partner for the 3 days. Any questions just ask. We'll do our best to answer. The best detective work you can do is read our profiles. There is alot of information that we wrote as we lived it. The good, bad and the ugly. So hope to see you next month at the PMRI meeting. They are worth attending just for the fellowship and the information too. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi Elissa, I am so happy for you! My coworker is also having her surgery on the 12th! Since I work at Christiana I will be up to see her on day 2. If you like I will stop by and see you also. I am ready to start trying diffferent protein drinks etc. I am so thankful for everyone's support and suggestions. Are you still coming to the cooking class next month. I hope to see you there! I will try to check my e-mail more often. Take care

Hi Terre, Congrats on your surgery date, July 19th will be here before you know it! I'm also a pre-op, but it seems that everyone agrees that the one thing you need to be a loser, is "chapstick"! I have a tendency to always over pack when I go away, but after reading the profiles of Post-ops I think I'll pack light. Terre, I wish you the best and keep us posted on your journey! ((hugs)) Patti C

Terre, Congrats on your date! As the others have said, definitely don't overpack cause you won't use a thing you brought and will have to lug it all back home lol. Time will fly now! Linda

I'm not a big chapstick person but I did take my lipstick - same effect but it helped me look a little less run over by a truck Tooth brush & past & lotion were big hits for me.

Hey, that's great news!!! July 19th always holds a special place in my heart. It was my first-born's original due date and my sister's borthday. Alas, he decided to come late...July 29th! Now, it will be you re-birth date! (((hugs))) -Karen

Terre, SO GREAT! We will be fellow losers in July!!!! I (think) I go on the 12th. And guess what, that's one day before my birthday!!! What a gift huh? Probably the best I'll ever get! Thanks to everyone who gave Terre suggestions. I'm going to take note too. I believe in being prepared too! Terre, extra surprise -- we met at the Super G class! Hope your dizziness has gotten better! Was a great class, huh. I recommend it to anyone!
