Not Just Weight Loss...Fitness!
I just had the COOLEST thing happen. I went for my usual evening walk, and tonight decided to do 2 miles ( I usually do 2 in the morning and one in the evening ) anyway, I stepped up the pace and chose a route in my neighborhood with hills, when I got back I checked my BP and pulse...my BP was 135/75 and pulse was 90...this immediately after doing 2 miles in 30 minutes. Just a few short weeks ago these would have been good numbers for me resting! Oh and the sugar free icing on top of my carb free cake was my blood sugar, 90, 2 hours after meal.

Linda,
That's terrific, good for you! What a great feeling you must have.
How do you guys find the time to walk twice a day.. a mile or two? I don't have the time to do 20 min 3 times a week. If I went at midnight I could.. but the treadmill is broken so it would have to be outside in the dark, scarey night! Seriously, between work, kids, sports, marching band, meetings, and the driving all around, all on my own.. I have zero time.
Hi Tina,
It's very hard juggling all those activities. When my boys played soccer I would exercise when they were at practice, I'd walk the field. When they were little, I'd get up a half hour early and go in the morning. Maybe you could try that, adjust your schedule and go to bed a smidge earlier and get up and walk in the morning...or do you have stairs in your house? Walk up and down them in the evening. How about at lunchtime at work? I know lots of places have walking groups, maybe a few days a week you could take a portable protein bar for lunch and walk while you eat it. How about when the kids are at a sports practice or after school activity, walk in the parking lot while you wait for them. Remember even short spurts of activity, 5 - 10 mins at a time adds up! Go get your sneakers
