Cardiologist and Pulmonologist appointments
I made my PMRI appointments ahead of time. As for the cardiologist and pulmonologist you could call and see what kind of wait you're looking at, just make sure you use approved doctors that work through Christiana Care. I saw Dr. Vasile for pulmonology, he is in Wilmington at the old Riverside Hospital building, and I saw Dr. Furey for cardiology in Omega center.
Good luck!

I wish I would have paid more attention to the message board and done something like this myself! I've just gone through most of the clearance appts. in the last month and here's what I found. Since it was so recently you might find the same.
PMRI appts move very quickly. When I called, mid-March, I had all my appts for March 17 thru April 5. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule at the last minute but still got everything done with PMRI by mid-April.
The specialists were a different story! I got a decent date with the pulminologist (within 3wks-month of my call, also by mid-April) but the cardio doc was much harder. I am still waiting ****il late May)! I made the mistake of going to another cardiologist (chosen on my own) that I could see before late May BUT he wasn't accepted by my surgeon. How frustrating!
Everyone here has great ideas and I wish I would have known about some of these alternate drs so I could have called around for an earlier appt. JUST, you might want to double check with the surgeon's office that a particular specialist is still OK'd. I'd hate to see you go for nothing and have to repeat.
Just my experiences, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!! Keep reading the board and going to the support groups. I've learned more than I ever thought I could by doing that!
