HI everyone, I am a pre-op patient and was very pleased to see several messages here letting us know that Trader Joes has foods, etc. that are good for gastric bypass patients. I live very close to the store near the Concord Mall and being a pre-op patient, I'd like to try out some of the stuff beforehand. Anyone with Trader Joe experience, please share with us what good things are there. APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH!

Hi there and welcome to the DE board. I love Trader Joes and I also love Carb Busters on Kirkwood Hwy. There is a lot of the favorite items that people purchased from Trader Joes on our other board ... Since we are not allowed to post outside URLs here, I will email you the URL to that site. Or you can find it by choosing the www button right below where I am going to sign my name here. Again, welcome to the board! Hugs, Tammy You should find the button that I am talking about right below here

OOOPS all! Sorry if I broke the rules by asking for specifics. Remember I told you in my first post I am a newbie to message boards, not to mention, computer challenged!

You didn't do anything wrong at all ... please don't give it a second thought. I was going to send the link to you email, but after I posted that I noticed that you did not have an email listed. But that is okay, you can still find it if you click on the www button at the bottom of this message box. Again, welcome to the board and as for being computer challanged ... hang around here, we will help bring you up to speed!!! Disclaimer - Notice I did not actually promise what speed there! *huge ornery grin* Have a great evening, and if you are having trouble figuring out what button I am talking about, just ask again, hopefully someone here will be better able to you out!!! Hugs, Tammy

Tammy, Whoa, you are a PC goddess! I had no problem getting to that site by clicking on WWW. Did you do that (make it up, create it, whatever you call it!?!). I am impressed how much info -- and specific info -- it contains! It sure will come in handy. Thanks for hooking me up with it. Kit PS. I'm working on getting my profile, an email button etc. up here. It took me days just to sign up (and don't laugh, I have no idea how I did it, it just happened -- FINALLY LET ME POST REPLIES -- and I didn't question it!) I called obesityhelp.com and they said it could take up to ten days to show up? I'll wait and see (been less than a week).

Ahhh Kit, wonderful words of praise ... but I am unworthy!!! *grin* Linda (LB) started it and Carla (CJ) is helping to maintain it now. They are the ones who you should be praising *grin* It has been a real help to me and I am sure others. But I am so very glad that you enjoyed it ... and the information that it contains is supposed to help not only the pre-ops but us posties also. So glad you found the info useful for you! Glad to hear you are getting your profile done. The fine volunteers here as Obesity helps will do all they can to hook you up with a nice (and fancy) page to journal all your thoughts in. Last I heard the HTML volunteers were pretty busy, and it takes a while to do each persons profile, so 10 days sounds pretty good to me. Please be sure to let us know when it is up so we can all go and take a peek at it! Have a great day ... and I am so glad you feel like part of the family already. It is good to have you aboard!!! Hugs, Tammy

Hi Ms. Kitty, There are several of us who live near Trader Joes. It is such a wonderful place. I'm only 10 days post Op, but here are a few of the new things I've found there. The Vanilla and Chocolate Protein Powders are pretty good for the price. They have several different creamed soups in quart size cardboard containers that I have been living off of lately. I add some unflavored Unjury powder or some finely flaked tuna to up the protein content. I can't wait to get to soft solid foods so I can try some of the fishes that they have. Ken

Hey Ken, I've shopped there for awhile and also think it is a wonderful place. I started first because a good number of my friends and co-workers are vegetarians and it was a nice place to them get snacks, entrees, etc. when we had get-togethers. Then I got hooked! I was pleasantly surprised when I heard I could still enjoy some of their foods after surgery! Thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like you are really doing well so soon after surgery. GOOD GOING! I'm hoping if I prepare enough ahead I will be OK too! Kit
