surgery date dilemma

hi.. i have a issue, i welcome any suggestions..i have a surgery date for 5/17 i want to possible switch dates with someone preferably a week later. i've contacted dr.iragu office and was told a note would be put in my file. that was 3 wks ago..still nothing ..i was called on friday for my pre op appt. 4/29. my daughters prom is 5/20 and i want to be here for her, but i dont want my surgery reschduled for possibly mnths...anyone out there know anybody that possible want to switch dates,of course with office approval????? i hear if no complications hospital stay is 3 days. right? does that include the day of surgery or no? if all else fells i dont know what i'm going to do.....

Hi, I'm sorry that you have this dilema. From my experience, surgery is the first day, and you go home the third day if no complications. Which for you will be 5/19. I hope this works out for you, I imagine I would feel the same way. Maybe someone will want to move up a week. Good luck.

Hi Debra, When you go in for your appointment ask again about the cancellation list. I did that and ended up with a date 3 weeks sooner than my original date. Good luck! Linda
