Got home about 10:00 this morning. I thought I was doing really well until Bret took out the drain. Ever since, I've felt bloated and gassy. I thought it was strange that I felt great in the hospital. Is it possible to walk too much??? on top of the gas, the sore, achyness has finally caught up with me. I probably will not be able to chat much for a few day, the computer is upstairs, and I'm not ready to try the steps yet. I'm on my laptop from work. I'm not supposed to be on the internet on it!!! Glad I got to chat with Patty C and several others at the hospital. Going to take a nap! Ken

Hi Ken. Welcome home and to the other side. You can't walk too much. Your feet would hurt if you did. I did the steps to my basement 2 times a day for exercise. When I got to the bottom I'd rest for a few minutes. The drain site will be tender for a couple of days. Each day you'll feel stronger and better. Power naps are good. I'm going to the support meeting at the VA tonite, WANNA GO? Thresa is bringing our Unjury that we ordered. I'll get yours and if its okay I can touch base with you to get it to you. Keep walking, sipping and breathing. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Fantastic. Walking is good, from what I hear. Remind me of that when it's my turn. Diane C.

Welcome Home Ken!!! It was so nice to meet you in person at the hospital. How many people can say that they get visits from fellow patients just hours after that patient had their surgery!!! You've been doing great. Yesterday when I got home was my blahh day. I felt sore and achy and the gas/bloatedness comes and goes. You inspired me with all that walking at the hospital! Now that I don't have to rely on a nurse to come and unhook me from the "corral" so that I can go for a walk, I haven't been able to hardly sit still. I've been up since 4:45 - had to get the shower!!!! I think I shampooed my hair 4 times until it felt clean and since I don't have my pic up yet - it's not much longer than Ken's hair!!! I've tried to get myself on the 7 am schedule with my little meals every 3 hours with water in between. I've done pretty good so far. I went out to the mail box to get my paper and it was so nice that I walked a good 1/4 mile or so out to the model home in my development and back. I don't want to over do it, but I figured if I was feeling good that I would go for it. Ken - again, thanks for stopping by - that was so sweet of you. Good luck and I'm sure you will be feeling a little better each day as time moves on. Take care, Patty.
