I'm Home
Hi Patty, Welcome home. Take it easy. Your hormones have been re-ajusted. I'd find myself crying for no reason one minute and running around like a chicken the next moment. I do know I vented a lot with anyone that would listen. It was good therapy for me. I kept a journal and updated my profile as I was afraid I'd forget things. It is the mind eraser drugs they give you in the hospital. Ask my roomie Tina. We both said and did things that we didn't remember later. Good drugs. The tenderness at the drain site will diminish each day. You'll sleep better too. Just to take a shower and sleep in my own bed was like a little bit of heaven. I wouldn't change a thing. This is the best thing I've done for myself ever. I feel so much better. I am healthier too. Take care and keep posting. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Patty,
I felt the same way. You do feel lost even though you prepared. I felt that way for the whole 4 weeks!!! I dehydrated myself because I was overly careful not to drink "too much" its very weird at first and takes getting use to. Just be sure to get in your liquids and protein - I like the drinks in lieu of the milky stuff... protein ice is good and can be bought right out of the fridge at the store they have grape, blue rasberry, fruit punch. Its hard that 1st month getting use to the puree (which i never could stomach) i stuck with the protein drinks and water... water with a bag of mint tea. for some reason water hurts my belly. the doctor told me that he heard that alot and seems to be common. I put a bag of mint tea in my bottle and shake and it sooths the belly. Just some tips crystal light is another option of course. lol. Its hard to keep your spirits up I was in the dumps for awhile. I didnt feel like myself until well this week acutally and its my 6th week. Now its kinda cool because i can test foods and eat and feel normal again. You hang in there we are here for ya! Best Wishes!!
