I just got a call from the editor and she advised me that the higher ups are telling her that the Gastric Bypass article is supposed to run in this Sunday & Monday's Paper as long as no bigger news happens! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it finally makes it to print.... it's been since January that this has been in the works.

I'm a copy editor at The News Journal (and have had the surgery). I just read the stories, which I'm also told are expected to run Sunday and Monday, and the reporter did a very nice job. I also saw some of the photos a few weeks ago and they turned out great. I really loved the one with you and your children in the jeans -- I hope you'll be able to get a copy of it. I haven't seen the art that's been chosen to run, but I'm excited about the story and look forward to seeing it in print, just like you ... finally.

Great to hear from you... and glad to hear the stories are great. I can't wait till Sunday to get my paper. I'll probably get up around 4 a.m. when the carrier comes by.. Ha! Ha! Would I contact Bob the photographer to get a copy of the picture with me and my kids in my old jeans?

I'll find out how you would go about getting a copy of the photo. Last night I saw an early layout of the first story, which runs Sunday -- it is the front page centerpiece, and that very photo was the main art (it would be the largest photo on the page if that layout is kept). I'm so glad your photo was chosen for A1!
