Has anyone noticed since you have lost your weight that you have actually lost some of your height? I was five-seven and now I am down to five-half to five-six. Wow! Is this just a coincidence? Thanks Nicki

I've heard of people's feet getting smaller and others getting taller . . . Diane C.

I think it comes with age, 20 years ago I was 5 10 1/2 now I am 5 9. It might just be both. Take care Dana

Nicki - I heard or read somewhere that even the pads of our feet get fat - so as we lose I guess we lose everywhere. It would seem to me, though, that as we get rid of the wieght our bones would say thank you and we'd end up taller! - based on that theory, when I get to goal, I should be 10 feet tall!! ((hugs)) Carla

Actually I fooled myself into thinking I was 5'10" and when they weighed and measured me at CHRIAS I was only 5'8". So I had to redo all my charts, goal weights, everything. At least the width has declined. Rob

Hi Rob- Thanks for the input. I have to redo mine too, although it is only five more pounds to lose. I have shrunk so much. I know that my height was right before surgery. Next time I go to Dr. Wynn's I am going to have them do my height. I think this is too interesting. I know that my shoe size went from a 9 to an 71/2-8. Are you going to the VA on Thursday? I am thinking about it. I asked Barb for more information and directions. It depends on my work scheduled. Talk to you later Nicki ps our picture together at the last meeting turned out great. I have a copy for you.

Nicki, That's pretty interesting. I hope I don't lose much at 5'2" haha.. I'm still pretty amazed that my feet are getting smaller. Shoes are too long and wide. How are you feeling these days? You looked fabulous at the last meeting!! Although the pics of the drains kinda spooked me..were they that bad? Tina

Hi Tina- First thanks for keeping us up to date on Ken and Patty. I now that I went from a shoe size of 9 to a 71/2 to an 8. I guess it would make sense to shink. I do know that I stand taller, if anything else. I am doing really good. I am back to work part time and trying to build the strength to do full time. The drains were more of a pain in the butt. I thought it would hurt coming out, but it was better then the one from gastric bypass. I had three for one week and one for two weeks. The less fluid that is draining the less suction when they pull it out. I did some deep breathing when they took them out. I thought for sure it would hurt, but Trish at Dr. Zabel's office talked me thorough it. It sure was a small price to pay for my results. Thanks for the compliments. Hope your doing well. Hugs Nicki

Nicki, I sure hope I haven't lost any height!!! Sure don't wanna lose my weight there! *grin* As far as shoe size goes ... I lost over a size within the first month of surgery. For the first time in years my ankles were once again skinny and boney. Looked kinda weird to have these little ankles and feet on such a large body. Also have lost in my hands ... wearing my wedding ring on my middle and pointer fingers until I can get closer to goal and then I plan to have it resized. Hopefully my body will catch up soon! *Huge Grin* Hugs, Tammy
