Hi, I was just wondering if someone loses 100-130lbs, will they most definately need a tummy tuck or arms and inner thighs done? I have my first appointment in August and I was wondering if this was something else I needed to consider. Also, how many of you were extremely glad you had the surgery? Even though my appointment's not till August, I still wonder if this is what I should do. Then I come here and see all the great things people have to say. So I may be a little confused. After the first appointment about how long will it be till the actual surgery? I keep telling myself that this will lead to a better and healthier lifestyle. Thanks for all the advice you can give. HI Michele, I have been very pleased with my surgery. It took about 6 months to get from start to go. I am now 6 months post op and have lost 104lbs. I have 23lbs to go until I hit my goal and yes I will need a tummy tuck and possibly my thighs done. I see a plastic surgeon on the 22nd and am praying insurance will pay for it. The rashes have gotten bad and that's why I am looking into plastics now instead of waiting to loose the last 23lbs. Besides I figure by the time I get through the appointment and the insurance approval and all I will be even closer to my goal. This is an exciting but scary journey to surgery and we are all here to help in anyway we can. Like I said I am very pleased with the outcome as of now and I can't imagine that changing. My health has improved dramatically and I feel so much better then I ever have. I hope all goes well with you and August will be here before you know it. Peace! Hope

Hi Michelle! It is most definately WORTH IT!! I had my surgery Jan. 13th & am down 56 lbs. I used to take 14 pills in the morning 7 at nite & 2 different insulins. I am now down to 7 pills total & only 1 insulin which I hardly ever need. I am 54 years old & have many health problems so that's why I did it. I can go to the gym now & do 45 min of cardio & the weight machines too. All my doctors I see are thrilled with how healthy I am becoming. Try to remeber that the weight loss is only part of this life changing experience. You definately should be coming to the support meetings every month at PMRI. You'll meet wonderful people that have been thru it 3 years ago,1 week ago,as well as still waiting for the surgery like you. Take care , Cynthia Polish

HI Michelle- I am 14 months post op and I have lost 140 pounds. I have had the tummy tuck, thighs, breast and arms done. It all depends on how you are portioned out, but most likely the stomach will be the one that needs to be tucked. My stomach was the worst. My arms weren't bad at all, but I still wanted it done and I am glad that I did it. In fact I may have my arms re-done. I had the surgeon only cut half way down the arm and now I wish I would have gone down to the elbow, like the surgeon wanted to. We will see. You lose about another size when you do the plastic surgery. But more importantly, I don't feel fat anymore. Everything is tight and clothes fit so much better. My best advice to you is: fill yourself up full of knowledge (the good and bad) and then make a decision for yourself. I know this was right for me. Best to you Nicki
