Sorry I missed everyone!!

Hello everyone I am sorry I missed the meeting, but I was home licking my wounds...yes I hit another bump in the road on this looooong weight loss journey. I went for my pre-op visit, had a great time in the waiting room. I saw Hope Brown, and Elyissa and meet a couple new people. Then I got called in. While I was sitting in the exam room waiting on Brett, I heard him and Dianne, who I know by talking to her on the phone just about every day. Well they came in the room with the bad news, my insurance will not except the papers I turned in as doctor supervised diets, so I decided to make a formal appeal. I am working on it now, my pcp is writing a letter to try to deam the surgery medically neccessary, so again will everyone please pray for me that this will do it. So I can still keep my surgery date of April 20. If not I guess I will just have to play their game, and do exactly what they want. Diet....ha ha ha that is so funny,if I was dieting for 6 months straight I don't think I would have to be here begging for surgery. Even my PCP said she has never had an insurance company deney gastric bypass surgery. So atleast she is helping me. Well thank you for letting me vent....let me just say that on friday, when I got this news.....If crying was exercise, I ran the Boston marathon, friday and saturday. But, I got all of that out of the way and now I am just mad. So I will keep every one informed on my progress, now I just have to sit back and wait. Take care.... Dana

Dana, I did miss you on Saturday. I'm so sorry that you are having insurance problems. It all seems kind of stupid to me, like if we could have lost the weight already, or diets worked, wouldn't we all have already been thin and healthy?? Don't give up. If you get stuck for things for your letter, don't forget the library has lots of information. Good luck Dana, hang in there.

Well Dana ... if you don't mind ... I am going to sit right here with you!!! *arms crossed ... stern look on face* Insurance companies can be a hard road to figure out. I don't know anything about your particular insurance company, but I am right here behind you to help lift you up in prayer and I also have a shoulder that you can use anytime you need one. Dana ... my girlfriend has gone through a struggle with insurance also ... she gave up ... I am praying that you do not. Remember, with some companies it is kinda an unwritten policy to deny X amount of times before offering approval. You want this surgery .. you NEED this surgery ... go after it like a mama bear protecting her young. And pray for God's guidance, strength, wisdom and will in this situation. I will be praying also. Hey Dana, Did your PCP submit your weight history and a personal appeal letter. Many times that can be sufficient. Especially if there are health concerns, ie. blood pressure, cholesterol. Good luck, Rob

Up-date today I faxed my letter of appeal along with a well written letter from my pcp, so lets pray that this is it. I am getting tired of fighting. Today has been a hard day so far....April 6, it was my old surgery date and my husband kept his day off, and I was the only one getting up this morning.
