I am smiling more -- but I look 10 yrs older! Creams creams creams... so far have had 0 effect on my arms or legs but I am not giving up hope on my face yet - how can I. I just got some kind of firming face stuff from Avon & am anxiously awaiting it to slather it on... Last night at an inopportune moment I looked over to see my left arm looked disgusting - in addition to the bicep area - which I am used to being bat man gross - my FOREARM was all wrinkled up too. It seriously threatened to ruin the mood - if only in my head because I certainly was not pointing it out. But I shoved it out on my head & just looked the other way. Okay - now -would I rather be wrinkly then where I was in October? YES. Yes I would. But, does anyone have any advice on how to deal with the wrinklies? They keep trying to steal my joy. I also need dental work now... I lost two molars YEARS ago & now when I smile I can see more of my teeth - or lack there of.... Anyone know a good dental implant guy? Kathy V. Let me know what you find out ..that works! I have wrinkles coming too! I'm not ready for them..not at least today! However, Kathy, you have that beautiful GLOW!!! As your pregnancy progresses, perhaps the wrinkles will smooth out? Just make sure to rest! Hugs, Kimberly

Sorry darlin, can't help with the wrinkles.. I've got enough of my own! But I wanted to tell you I checked my Lab Corp paperwork for the protein levels. Prealbumin (protein) normal levels are 20-40. Mine pre op was 25, post op, 18. Dr. Meanman told me to break the shakes up, instead of drinking a 30 gram shake, do two 15 grams throughout the day. Hope this answers your question dear! T

Kathy V. Science Experiment at large *giggle* Have to tell ya Chickie ... you almost made me wet my panties this morning!!! I don't have any sage wisdom to impart here, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. But here is what My PCP told me pre-op to do to prepare for this day. Start by hydrating your body with fluids, at least 64 oz. Half of those fluids need to be plain ole water, nothing added. Lay off the deodorant soaps except for those parts that need them (arm pits, and etc.). Use a conditioning soap on the rest of your body. Generously apply cream on your entire body. Again, remember that all important area below the chin, right above the neck ... I forgot about that area for some strange reason and find that is my worst spot. Vary your diet to include plenty of protein ... but also eat some veggies and fruit and grain. Now I don't know how much difference this will make ... but right now I am up to trying anything to help avoid those nasty ole wrinkles. She talked like it was important to know that the sooner you start this the better ... so a word to all you pre-ops ... drink and slather up!!! But now I want to say something to you personally Kathy ... where were all these wrinkles on you ... cause all I saw was this beautiful glow ... you are radiant my dear!!! Hugs, Tammy

Kathy, I thought you looked fantastic at the meeting on Saturday. Don't try to fix everything overnight. Try circuit training for specific problem areas. Your smile is contagious. Talk with Nikki or others who have had plastic surgery. Come to the WLS-NDE meeting cause there are a lot of people that are over a year out and can pass on their tips. Stay happy. Rob

Remember SUNSCREEN! I am a big for nagging people to use it every day...I will say it again....EVERY DAY. I come from a long line of fair skinned folks and have followed this since I was about 20 or so. Finally smart enough to stop trying to do the tan thing and take better care of my skin. Sun accounts for something like 80% of the visual signs of aging, not to mention long term damage we can't see until it's too late. SUNSCREEEEEEEEN ! Ok, lecture over lol
