Pretesting is now officially over
Dear Diane,
I just wanted to stop by and give you a Big Ole HUG!!!
Been there and done that ... hubby has severe sleep apnea. Was falling asleep all the time before he started wearing his C-Pap at nights. He was falling asleep at the wheel. He even feel asleep at a job interview (side note, He still got the job - rolling eyes - go figure) At any rate, at first it was horrible for him to think that he was going to wear that to bed. He was not only concerned about it being uncomfortable, he was concerned about my reaction to it. I just reassured him and told him that I was thrilled that he had that life saving device. Something you may want to consider ... when hubby got his, he was given a shorter hose ... we bought him a longer one and he is so much more comfortable now. Feels less like he is on a leash as he puts it. We bought ours off of eBay, but I think you can get them at most Med Stores.
I hope and pray that you recieve the same wonderful blessings/benefits that my hubby has with his machine. Here's hoping for peaceful sleep for you and wide awake days. HUGS TO YOU DIANE!!!

Diane, My Cpap machine is in a carry case. It has come with me to Hawaii, Alaska, Panama Canal Cruise, Cancun among other places. I usually carry an extension cord as some places don't have convienent outlets. I always take it as my carry on. That way I can keep track of it. Mine also has a small humidifier so that comes too. It really helps me get more restful sleep. It isn't very attractive to sleep in, but its not while your asleep that counts. I hope some day to be rid of the apnea and the mask, but in the meantime it does get me to sleep real quick. Since the WLS I don't have to get up in the middle of the night anymore to wiz, just to get a drink of cold water to quench my thirst. Things are definetely going in the right direction. ((HUGS)) Elissa
