Recipe Time - YUMMY Protein Smoothie!!!
Hey Guys!!!
This is my meager attempt at a new and improved protein drink to mix things up a bit! I tried this recipe and my whole family fell in love with it. Thought I would post it in the event you all may want to try it also!!! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did! BTW - I made a large batch because I was making it for everyone, but of course you can make a smaller batch by cutting the recipe.
Hugs,
Tammy
STRAWBERRY-PINEAPPLE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE
1 cup of milk (skim - regular, soy or carb reduced - I used regular because that is what I had in the fridge - 9 gms protein - but I think it would be wondeful with carb reduced or soy milk)
6 oz container of ss ff low carb vanilla yogurt (I used the store brand from Walmart - 9 gms of protein - 5 carbs)
2 scoops of vanilla protein powder (I had Elite so that is what I used - it has 22gms per scoop) (next time I am going to try the Proplete Gold Pineapple-Vanilla protein powder, I imagine that would be wonderful - didn't think of it until after I had made this batch)
1 scoop of Unjury Unflavored Protein (20 gms protein)
4 - 6 strawberries - depending on the size - (I used fresh, again because that is what I had)
1/4 cup of pineapple (canned - unsweetend in its own juice)
Splenda to taste
Tray of ice cubes
Put the fruit and milk in the blender, add yogurt and splenda. Add in protein powder and mix until smooth. Add ice cubes and blend!
Get ready to enjoy a fantastic (In my humble opinion) Protein Smoothie!!!
Recipe as posted makes 4 cups (actually just a tad over)
Nutritional count for entire recipe
497 Calories
5 gms fat

82 gms protein
Dana,
Great!!! This truly is a great tasting shake (in my opinion anyway). I hope you and your children like it also. I know mine sure did!!! But I have to warn you about that ... seems it is a little harder to hide your goodies after they find out that they actually taste good *wink*
Looking forward to hearing your review of the recipe!!!
Hugs,
Tammy
