Sight Fever?

Yesterday mid morning I started with a fever that has run between 99.9 and 100.4. I know that the papers say to call if your fever is 101.5 or more. Has anyone had this once they have been home? Also I am still not able to drink more than 40 cc's in an hour. I feels like it just does not want to go down. I don't know if I am worrying too much. But I don't know is I will be able to get my crushed meds and a meal in. Also question about applesauce> is "no sugar added" apple sauce the same as sugar free? My husband has been crushing my pills up in no sugar added applesauce and I was wondering if there was a sugar free type we should be using? Sorry to keep bugging you guys-but I just don't feel like I am bouncing back. Mish

Mish, In answer to your applesauce question. The "no sugar added" apple sauce is the right kind. It has the natural sugar from the apples itself, but no refined sugars. Stay strong, the crushed pills are only for a short time, and eventually you probably will not be doing many pills at all. Stay calm about the drinking and eating and just try to keep progressing. It gets better. Call the doctor if you are struggling too much. Sometimes the call helps you to alleviate any fears that you might have. I think I remember Brett saying that your temperature goes up a little as part of the normal healing process. Rob

Mish, The first night home my fever did the same thing. I watched it and bundled up. I don't remember taking anything for it. It went away within 48 hrs. Use the no sugar added applesauce, add a little splenda if it's not sweet enough. Check the Sugar free for other sugars. As long as it is minimal (under 8 gr) it should be okay. Try to make it to the support classes at PMRI. They are so informative regarding sugars and protein intake. In the meantime post and we'll all reply. Remember everyone is a litttle diferent. The Doctor's and Nutritionist even have a slightly different philosophy on some things. Water intake, just keep sipping. Keep water near you all the time. Just remember to stop 1/2 hour before you eat. Then start drinking 1/2 hour after. You'll do fine. Like Rob said, try to relax. It'll all come together for you. It'll start to fall into place eventually. Are you starting to feel better each day? I'll send my phone number in an email if you need to call. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi Mish, I'm sending some good thoughts your way to help you feel better. Take it easy and try to to push too hard. Let yourself heal up and try not to worry. Before long you will be feeling good and we'll all meet up for lunch and an afternoon out! Linda

Mish, First off ... CONGRATULATIONS to you girl!!! Second ... seems everyone else has already addressed your concerns, so I am just here to offer a hug and support and to let you know that for me the biggest thing when I first got home was my surprise of how very little I could actually get in me. (imagine that *grin*) At any rate, two sips and I was stuffed. I really don't know what I was thinking - I should be getting in my 65 gms of protein and 64 oz of water that soon???? Go figure ... but at any rate, I concentrated on working on getting in fluids an ounce at a time to help avoid dehydration, then started working on getting in some protein. Took me quite a while to get up to speed on the 65 gms and the 64 ozs. I wrote about it in either my journal or in my tips and tricks page should you want to read further on how I dealt with it. Just like those before me mentioned ... it all seems so strange in the very beginning, but it truly will all fall into place real soon. There will be a moment when you say ... ahhhhhh ... at least there was for me and quite a few others that I have talked with. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to ask questions ... we are all here to try and support each other. Hugs, and again, Congrats!!! Tammy
