Daughter's surgery is tomorrow
My daughter Christine goes into surgery tomorrow. We have reversed rolls since she will be leading the way and I will follow. My surgical date is April 19th. We both decided that we are going to do this together. Talk about being nervous..... She knows how apprehensive I was about this surgery and wanted to go first to show me first hand that it will be ok. Please pray for my baby.
Dear Karen,
Trust that I have prayed and will continue to pray for both you AND your daughter.
You have chosen an excellent surgery team. Dr Irgau and Dr Wynn and Brent/Brett? are truly on the ball. I was amazed at how they were on top of everything during my hospital stay. They were all completely honest and comforting to me. I have a ton of respect for each of them. Something else I would like to share. I spent a lot of time walking the halls .... and I also witnessed them spending a lot of time dissecting the charts of all their patients. I never saw them just glance at the charts ... I always took note that they truly studied the chart. Truly looking out for our best interests. We are all very blessed to have such wonderful surgeons right in our back yard.
Hugs to you as you go through your daughters surgery. Likely that will be rougher on you than when you go through your own. We are always so concerned about our babies. Should you feel like you need a shoulder during the wait ... just let me know and I can get you my phone number. Also, one more thing ... do not worry if after your daughter gets out of surgery that she spends a great deal of time in recovery. I had to spend extra time there not because of any problems I was having but because of problems they were having with another patient (non wls related). So by the time they got me to my room, hubby was a little on the frantic side worried that something was wrong, when in reality, all was well with me.
Hugs,
Tammy
Dana, just found out I have sleep apnea and they need to do another study. Called Christiana and they will put me on a waiting list. Don't know if this will delay my surgery or not. I think I read that yours was delayed because you had to take Zantac after your EGD. So they really didn't postpone it too far out. After you get your surgery date you don't want anything to intefere with it which I am sure you can understand.
My daughter is on clear fluids and called awhile ago to say she is hungry. I think I feel her hunger pains but I am so anxious about her surgery that I can't eat either. Take care and thanks for your support. Hopefully if all goes well we can partner in our race down the halls.
