New to the group...
I was just informed that there was a cancellation at Dr. Miller's office and my first appointment has been moved up from April 21st to April 9th!!! I am so excited !!! I just can't wait to be a "loser"... I've been reading some profiles and really admire how courageous and honest you guys are!!! I've been "thinking" about RNY surgery for a year and a half and finally got up the courage to schedule an appointment. But that was only because the orthopedic surgeon wanted to replace both of my knees... Now really, does it make any sense to replace joints when the same amount of weight is going to be on the new ones??? I think not, so off to surgery I go (I PRAY!!!). Thanks to everyone for posting and sharing your lives with me... I hope to get meet some of you at one of those meetings I keep reading about...
Hi Pamela, Welcome. I live in Northern Delaware and go to Dr. Irgau at Christiana. I also HAD a bad knee 2 months ago. They are already feeling 99.9% better. I haven't taken the Celebrex since January. Yipee!!!!
Any questions please post and we're here to encourage and support you in your journey. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Hey Pamela!
Welcome to the message board. Like you, I thought about the surgery a loonnnnnggg time before I actually even "really" considered it. Truly it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made!!! Funny, how it sometimes takes something so serious for us to really consider the surgery for ourselves huh? I know I spent years trying to convince myself that I was healthy for a fat girl ya know!!! *geesh* Anyway, enough about me ... I just wanted to welcome you here and wish you the very best with your first appointment with Doc Miller in April. Please keep us updated!!!
Hugs,
Tammy
