ok, I have started the clear liquid count down. People on this post have said that this is easy. I must be the odd one out! I have a major headache, the shakes, am very hungry, don't ever want to see chicken broth again, its not even 3:00 AND its my first day. :-0 , did I mention that I feel a bit green lol I don't know why the entire family is in hidding! Am I THAT crankie. I just hope this is all worth it! Plus I have gotten the last minute jitters-like will I be the one who does not lose anything? Will this work for me, Can I make it work? Will I gain back what I have lost? We guys, thanks for letting me sound off- I will find out the answers to these questions soon enough. Ps--L.B. have fun with the next 2 days lol Mish

Hang in there Mish. Go out and try to keep busy. It's so nice outside. Try to go to bed early too. It'll keep you from going nuts. It will be sooooo worth it. It isn't easy. But it's like childbirth, you tend to forget the hard stuff. It'll take a while though. The mind eraser drugs you'll get in the hospital will help too. Remember your chapstick. Walk, sip and breathe. When that's done do it again. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Oh Mi**** will be okay. It is not that it was "easy" but it passes quickly & will soon be just a distant memory! You can see from my profile that I ate chicken broth & jello the 1st day & woke up the next day sick (runs) and so I was almost afraid to keep eating that stuff for fear of being sick the morning of surgery - so the 2nd day I had nothing bu****er all day. Lots of water... My suggestion is to spend as much time "doing" sometihng as possible. FGo to the baltimore aquarium, or a long drive up to Lancaster county, get a manicure, hair cut & color, go to the movies, a couple of times... Go window shopping for stuff to buy with yoru tax refund... Do you have a recliner??? If not, you migh**** to rent 1 or buy 1 even tomorrow. It made sleeping possible for me the 1st week or 2 so at home becasue my ribs hurt too much to lay down. It was soo comforting to snuggle up in my recliner. You'l be okay! Honest! ~Kathy V.

OH my Mish.. I know I didn't say it was easy. I hated it, I was very hungry and cranky too. It will make your surgery easier for the Doc's if that helps. I agree with Elissa.. if it's nice out tomorrow get outside and enjoy the sunshine. Good luck.

Its almost over, almost over almost over-- Last night I could not hold down anything Even a sip would come right back up-and forget the jello! . I tried to get outside but don't have the energy to move. I have a major headache (still) and don't even want to try any fluids because my stomach is still doing the roll. Its almost over, lol Just want to thank you all for your help and suggestions. I hope my next posts will be a tad more upbeat.

Dear Mish, I wanted to pop in and post to your support page, but for whatever reason, I am not able to post to any support pages. So I hope you don't mind if I post here instead! Hang in there and keep up the good work. It truly will be all over before you know it. Remember to walk, sip and do your breathing exercises ... as a matter of fact, do your walking before your breathing exercises if allowed, it makes it easier to do your breathing, at least it did for me. Make sure you get your pre-ops pics ... I know, we all hate them, but they will be so very important to you down the road far sooner than you know. Also make sure you take your chapstick to the hospital with you ... truly it was my very best friend. Gosh I could go on and on and on forever ... but I won't. *wink* However, I have compiled a list of pre-op and post-op ideas that have helped me thus far on my profile page if you are bored and are looking for something else to read to help pass the time. Looking forward to your speedy recovery and your stories of successfully reaching your goals post-op! Again, should you need anything please do not hesitate to contact me ... I will certainly do all I can to help. Hugs, Tammy
