I want to let everyone know that though I dont have a picture posted yet but its coming. I have my inital appointment with Dr.Miller, Seaford DE and I already posted that I am very anxious. I asked my PCP to draft a letter of my health status to take with me to Dr. Miller. I also asked the Pulmonary physican at my last visit to do so as well. Will I need any other tests be done prior my visit? I was thinking if I have a great deal of this ground work done then it would speed up the process?? Any suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated.
I would wait to see what your doctor orders. I have a different doctor and he is very strict about what test needed to be done and who would do them. I had a sleep study, stress test, more stress test, different stress test,(and I am still alive-lol) and a batch of other things. It seems like it will take forever, but your day will be here before you know it!
The main thing is, Make sure you trust your doctor!
Keep us posted.

don't do anymore test. eventhou you have gotten tests done dr. miller will order his own test. some of the test have to be done in a certian amount of time prior to your surgery. i know that you want this done asap, but it's not going to speed anything up. the norm is you have your first visit and then they put in to your insurance to see if it is approved and 2 months later you get your 2nd appointment date and also your surgery date at that appointment. there have been alot of changes at the doctor's office so things might be going alittle slower than normal for the next couple of months. the best thing you can do is research your insurance handbook(hard copy or online) and see exactly how it needs to be worded for you to be approved and take that with you to your appointment. there have been many many people who have met the requirements or surpassed them for their insurance but have been denied because things weren't worded correctly.
hey quetta,
i know the waiting can drive you crazy!!! when i was pre-op i wanted the surgery done yesterday hahahhaa the waiting really is tough but there are alot of things you can do in the meantime. you can do clean out your closet and dresser of all the clothing that you will not be able to wear. put clothing in order of sizes. give away or throw out tired looking clothing. take advantage of the clearance racks at all the stores with the new season change. clean out your food pantry of all no-no's. buy small tuperware containers for portion size or leftovers(your going to always have leftovers). a couple thermal cups that you can take water or whatever drink you like that fit in your car (crystal-lite ect..). the first couple of months it was hard to find something to drink when you were out and about. can't have carbonation or sugar and not alot of places serve unsweetened tea. i know the wait is a killer, but use the time to get things in order and to reflect on the big change that you are about to go thur. good luck to you.
