Plastic Surgeon?????

Hello. I had chosen Dr. Schmidt but just found out from his office that he will not write medical neccessity letters for anyone. Can anyone out there recommend a good surgeon who accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield and will prepare the appropriate ppwk????

Hi Shannon: Sorry to hear Dr. Schmidt won't write the letter for you. I know there are some others who will. You can try Dr. Asher Carey in Dover or if you prefer New CAstle County you can try Dr Balakhani, Dr. Lawrence Chang, Dr. Joseph Danyo or Dr.Jonathan and Christopher Saunders. I work for the insurance co and I know these drs usually send in letters pretty often. Good luck. Anne

if this is the same dr. schmidt in dover be very glad he can't do it! i know 3 people who he did work on and they hated the outcome. one of the people works at my medical insurance company and warned me not to go to him. i had a tt and inner thigh lift on friday with dr. swier in lewes. he and his whole staff are great. and you don't have to wait long to be seen either. his number is 302-645-7737. it's really worth the drive. he has done alot of wls people too. they wrote the BEST medical necessity letter that i got everything covered tt, thighs, arms and butt.

Hello Fran. I just read your post on the 24th. Can you tell me did he make you wait 18 months after having Gastric Bypass?
