OT...my daughter
Hey, guys and gals! I just wanted to share some exciting news.
My daughter has been accepted to attend Delaware Military Academy as a 2004-2005 cadet!! She is beside herself right now. She had her interview with the commadant last week. She's currently in the Young Marines and her goal is to attend DMA for four years, hopefully get into Annapolis, and then go into the Marines as an officer (like her uncle).
Yeah, Ashley!!!
(((hugs)))

That is excellent news Karen!!! Please tell Ashely Congrats from me, not that she will know who I am, but I want her to know that she has people that she doesn't even know who are pulling for her and proud of her!!!
BTW - happy belated birthday Karen. Sorry I didn't get around to seeing your thread until it was too late. Just not around much these days but it sounds as if you day was wondeful! That made me smile! *wink*
Love ya!
Tammy
Congratulations.
Unfortunately the academy wasn't around for my youngest, Nathan. He was a JROTC at Dover High and then on to the University of Delaware on an ROTC scholarship. He will be commissioned on May 28, the day before he graduates from UD. His one goal is to outrank his dad *****tired from the Air Guard as a Lt. Col. He was far too intense about his goal/dream for public high school. Kids who have a heart for military service seem to be operating at a different level than your average team.
As for the marines, well . . . I suppose we can forgive some things.
