The News Journal will be having an article on Gastric Bypass in March. The scheduled date is for Sunday, March 7th. Keep a look out! I originally thought this was going to be a small article in the Crossroads section but to my suprise the photographer came to my house tonight and informed me that this was going to be on the FRONT PAGE!! I was so excited from the feed back I got after my local newspaper did an article on my weight loss surgery, that I decided to make this a personal mission to help all those in need. So, to the front page I go to the news paper. Dr. Wynn has also been talking with the editors along with some other people from my support group. (Next meeting is Thursday, March 11th 7pm at the Smyrna Police Dept confrence room) Please join us if you can! Let me know what you think of the article!!! Thanks for the heads up Ginger. I'll certainly look for it. btw.. you've done a fantastic job. How do you feel these days? Do you mind if I ask what you eat in a typical day at 1.5 yrs out? Thanks.

Hi Tina... I feel like a new woman to say the least! I had a really rough start in the beginning but it was all worth it. I would have this surgery again in a heartbeat if I had too. Funny thing is that I don't feel "skinny" as people tell me. I still feel like I have my "large" body. Even though the clothes went from a size 28 to a 10... go figure that one? As for eating... I feel normal. I can eat the same things as my family, just smaller portions. Yesterday, half of a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast, Small chicken ceasar salad for lunch and dinner was pot roast and brocoli with cheese. Most people say they don't like to eat out... I love it. I don't bother to ask about getting off the children's menu. I order a regular size meal the eat the leftovers the next day! I questioned myself many times right after surgery. What in the world did I do to myself. It took about 3 mos until I felt good. Everyone had told me to hang in there it would get better, and IT DID!! And still everyday after 1 1/2 years it is still getting better each day. I love my "New Life" and my husband loves his "New Wife"

My only concern will be the people to write in for the letters to the editor. I'm sure I'll hear all about just going on a diet and how this surgery is making insurance companies pay out for obese people, etc. We shall see what comes of it!
