Scrapple is a breakfast meat made from pork. The whole pig. Ground up and made into a block. Has an unusually good taste. It is only available in the Northeast. Sliced, floured & fried in a pan to go with eggs was one of my favorite breakfasts pre-surgery. Ummmmmm Not gonna try it for awhile though. It might be a tad too greasy this soon. Plus the eggs don't sit too well right now. An alternate to Sausage, ham or bacon. Hope that helps. ((HUGS)) Elissa ps I think they even have a scrapple festival downstate one a year.

OKay - the BIG key is to just not think about what it is made out of - cause ewww. However it is really good to some. My Grandmother likes to coat it in corn meal. My favorite way is without flour or cornmeal - I just put a slice in a hot pan on a spot of cooking spray & let it cook till crispy on the out sides. Since I don't add any oil it has not been too greasy though. Elissa - you sure know a lot about scrapple!

Okay guys, thanks for making me laugh. I needed that! Scrapple and grits.. .YUM YUM.. my grandparents were from South Carolina.. and I grew up on this stuff.. still love it lol I'm quite emotional lately, In addition to the surgery hormones, having another health issue (female kind), and just found out someone I used to work with and was friendly with passed away this week , at 48 y/o.... Not to mention hubby being 3000 miles away with no change in that situation in site.... I'm crying at the drop of a hat. thanks for listening.. or reading

thanks for the info....but ewwwwwwwwwww hahahhahaa i'm from charleston south carolina. my husband is military and we just got finished doing 4 years in germany (my first move in my whole life). i've been living in delaware almost 1 1/2 years. now i really understand this scrapple thing hahaha. when i would hear someone talking about eating scrapple they would talk about it like it was some exotic food, but would never say what the heck it was hahahahhahaa. delaware is a great state, but there are alot of things i'm still having to get used to. like the strange yankee/southern mix of talking that the people do in the country hahahaha. or living close enough to see a real live cow hahahahha. i know ya'll are going to laugh about that, but it's true. i have never seen a cow up close and i'm 31 hahaha. one of the things i love about lower delaware is it is very tight knit and a great place to raise my 2 daughters 9 and 11. when we were living in germany and got orders to delaware i was sooooooooo upset. i had never been to delaware in my life. since it is the first state i thought it would be really crowded and be very busy with cities hahahahahhahahahahahhahahahaha IF YOU COULD HAVE SEEN MY FACE WHEN WE FIRST ARIVED IN DELAWARE YOU WOULD HAVE FALLEN OVER. i'm so glad it's not what i pictured in my mind. i love it so much i think we will stay here for good and retire here.
