Tummy hurts
Hey Guys,
My tummy hurts, since yesterday (has gotten worse). It's not near any incisions or near my JP drain site. Just upper belly. I'm almost getting nausious (sp?) from it.
I was in Irgau's office today to drop off paperwork, and spoke to Brett briefly, he said drink more fluids (gosh I am!!) or try prune juice (I bought some.. a lot of sugar in it) or try an enima.. NOT!...
Any thoughts? Does it sound like bowel related?? thanks guys!
ps....forgot to add I'm already taking Colace (softener) because I have to take 50 mg of extra iron a day due to my bleeding out a few time from my JP drain and hemoglobins being low.
Jeez.. and I was worried I wouldn't be able to post personal stuff cause a lot of you know me.. .guess that's not the case eh?? lol
Tina,
That's what true friends are for ... (starting to hum - that's what friends are for ... the good times, the bad times, I will be forever by your side...) *** Hey, I think we could make a song out of that one!!! *grin*
Okay, get serious, I don't really recall having much pain after the hospital except where the drain was, and I think I remember that kinda hurting on and off for close to a month. But the nauseousness ... I had that ... when I started to get dehydrated, I would get sick every time. Great incentive to keep drinking! Then I found that I was getting nauseous when I didn't eat. Good incentive to eat those "meals" every few hours. Now I rarely feel nauseous ... except when I eat too fast. Should have worked on slowing down those meals when I was a pre-op!
Be sure to keep us updated.
Hugs,
Tammy

This must be the period Brett was talking about after the "honeymoon period". I think he said the first two weeks are wonderful and then the 3rd and 4th week, you feel crappy. I'm glad you stopped in and was able to talk to him. Keep on top of it, don't take any chances. Of course, not having been there yet so I have no experiences to offer. Good luck and hope you feel wonderfully new again soon.
