I made my appointment for my consultation!!
Hey everybody! I finally did it! I made an appointment for a consulation with Dr. Wynn. I feel so much better now that I have something to look forward to. I have had so many mixed feelings lately about WLS. I decided I would wait until I was with my employer for a full year b4 I asked for that amount of time off, for recovery. But today I felt this urge to call NOW. So I did. Unfortunately the earliest appointment with Dr. Wynn is August 27. I also called my insurance company to find out exactly what was and wasnt covered. This is such a weird feeling, you would think I had a surgery date, as excited as I am!

Hi Michelle,
I am in the same boat as you are. I was undecided with what I wanted to do, then one day I just called Dr. Wynn's office and I couldn't get in until August 13th. That just seems so far away. I can't stand it. I check out this website everyday to get the latest on whats going on with everyone. Well good luck in your journey.
Michele

Way to go Michelle!! It may seem like a long way away, but it will pass by quickly. Use this time to ask us questions and research. I started my journey back in 12/02 and had my surgery 1/04 - I read a lot on the internet and finally found OH.com - (a remarkable site) first I spent days going over the before after pics in the gallery and reading profiles, then I started getting active on the message boards and giving support on the surgery pages. It has been quite a journey and it's really just beginning! I have met so many amazing people and although each story is different, we all have a very common bond. It's like a family.
Hang on and enjoy the ride!

Congratulations to BOTH Michelles who will be having their consults in August. A few suggestions... You may wish to call PMRI now and schedule your appointments with them now because it takes them several months too. Just schedule them for after as soon after your consult as you can. It may shave some time off your wait after the consult. Instead of it being 6 or so months it could be a little less.
Maybe someone who has had their consult recently can tell you what you will need to go to? I think one of the things that you need to do now is take a class - maybe a 6 week class? Maybe that is something you can get out of the way.
Good luck on yor journies.
Thank you all for your kind words. I soo look forward to meeting all of you! I actually became a member about a month ago, and have been kinda staying in the background reading posts and profiles, to get a good gauge on how I felt about this life changing pocedure. I have done alot of research, now I am ready for the waiting/worrying game. I have prepared myself mentally, for all of the hurdles I may face- I am ready!
