Hi Diane, It's endoscopy, they insert a scope and check your stomach out before surgery checking for ulcers and any other potential problems before it's closed permanently by surgery. I am scheduled for mine March 12. Linda

Diane, Not everyone gets them. Dr Irgau did not order one for me. Not sure why, but figured that he knew what he was doing and who was I to push the issue! *grin* Wish you the best! Tammy

I think that is the only test that I didn't have to get. I recommend anything they can do to make the surgery safer and faster. Rob (maybe not appropriate)

Ha Ha! I totally agree about the hiding! I had one done and ICK! (how graphic is that emote?) I didnt actually throw up but man did I gag and kak and hack I didnt realize how consious I was going to be. they only sedate you so you are pretty much awake. It really isnt that bad its over pretty quick just remember to relax and try to go to sleep lol. Best of luck Elizabeth M
