Welcome Newbies

Patti, Linda & Mish, A big ((HUG)) and Welcome. I was a newbie to this site in September. Took me until October to post the 1st time. Boy I am no longer shy. Next PMRI meeting please let us see your name tag so you will feel the love & encouragement that we generate. It was the biggest crowd yet, standing room only yesterday. We're the noisy group that is hugging, laughing and swapping stuff. You too will get addicted to this site and us. Read our journals. Happy & sad. Ask questions. I had surgery in November in Philadelphia but a little too far to go to the support meetings.Looking for one in Delaware can you give me some info on where your group meets. Thanks Sherry

Hi Sherry - there are about 3 local support groups I think. The one that most of us all go to consistantly is at PMRI - Preventive Medicine & Rehabilitation Institute. This is the group most of our surgeons (Dr Wynn or Iragu) work with. There are Sat. meetings on the 1st Sat of each month from 10 - 11. We usually get in around 9:30 & hang out a while afterwards. They also meet on a Monday night every nmonth but I am not sure abotu that one. Cost $5 There are 2 other groups WLS-NDE & they meet the first monday night of the month - someone else will have to provide details.. And there is one that meets at the VA hospital in Elsmere - but again I don;t know the specifics..
