Fran, Anesthesia doesn't stay with me very long. I guess I fight it BIG TIME. Thank Goodness. I was moving fingers toes and mentally making sure all the body parts moved and were working. Awesome everything was good. Mouth & throat were desert dry and my belly was tender where the drain was. I had more pain with a hernia and having kids than this. Surgery at 10, recovery by 12 noon, room by 1PM. Was glad to see Tina and said Hi to Bill, her hubby. She was snoozing. I wanted up & out by 2. I was being *****y (meds) and nagged the nurses to let me out of bed. They were taking care of business and finally at 4:30 a cute little student nurse came in to unhook and get me ready to WALK. I sat on the side of the bed for a minute. No dizziness. Stood up. Little funny feeling. Got up, stabilized my monitors, she handed me her hand and off for the door we went. After we cleared the door, I dropped her hand, told her to walk in front of me slightly ahead and I'd put my hand on her shoulder for comfort. I laughed and told her if I went down I'd bring her down with me. She weighed about 100 lbs. Off we went , at a snails pace around the nurses station and back to the room. I felt no pain in my knees, legs or anywhere. That was the 1st Miracle. Of course I had some hits on the meds throughout the day. LOL. Good stuff. I was exhausted got back in bed took a hit on my med trigger, and I was finally able to drift off. Woke up looked at my worried sleepy hubby and told him I was okay and he could go home. The roads were bad with the snow storm. I was being taken care of by the nurses and I had Tina to moan with. I was okay. Each day has been better. Tina and I went home on Wednesday. Good to have a buddy we can share our little milestones with. TT YA later sweetie ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi, Elissa!! And welcome home, hon!! Boy, it feels great to be in your own bed, doesn't it?? I can't believe that you guys were AWAKE for your NG tube!!! Eeeeek! I have NO memory of that whatsoever...in fact, Dr. Wynn said I'd be out for it going in AND coming out. I wonder what happened with Dr. Godzilla??? In any case, I'm glad that you're home safe and sound, chickie! (((Hugs))) -Karen
