1st of all, I love my own bed. Second I had the longest and best shower of my whole life this morning. Gosh did it feel marvey to wash my hair. My belly is a little tender where the drain was and my arm is a little sore where the intervenous was. Other than that I should be roller bladeing by Saturday. !!NOT!! Throat is still tender where that GODZILLA DR. from hell put the NG tube. Boy did that hurt. If I hadn't been strapped down I probably would have snatched her up. I am a a big sissy. I was up & walking in 5/6 hours. I was getting kinda figety. Evidently anesthia doesn't have the same effect on me as it does on others. I didn't want any blood clots. I keep hearing you guys in the back of my brain saying walk, walk, walk, even in my sleep. I am a little pissed off, Sven, the massuse never showed up to give Tina & I our massages. I guess the snow & ice held him up. I had all the nurses in the hospital laughing. LOL I've graduated to jello & cranberry juice and my protein drink. Yippie. This is going to be an interesting journey. Food is actually the farthest thing from my mind right now. Don't miss it at all. Did I thank everyone for all their e-mails and the calls I got. You guys are so awesome. You Pre-op's are gonna be so lucky. You will feel pretty special with all our friends from here. The nurses are really wonderful. Except the admitting nurse #1 that said that they probably wouldn't find a good vein in my arm (insinuating I was a little FAT). I was on gaurd. RRRRR. But nurse #2 found it 1st ***** HA HA. We showed her. My Angel, Leigh, came to my rescue with her Bariatric Bear Tummy Buddy. To hold while walking and coughing. The hospital is so dry I had a lot of sniffing and nose blowing going on. Finally got some nose spray as I was being discharged. Oh well. I told you it wasn't a 5 star hotel. My hubby Charlie did pretty good. He was more tired than I was. Poor guy. All that worry. He didn't know how tough I was. He is definetly a keeper. God love him. And with that I will TT you all later. Keep posting. I love all you guys. Elissa

Home sweet home huh love? Well you seem to be doing really well with the pain - that is great. What the hell did they do to you with the NG tube??? Don't tell me after all that with your daughter pulling yor leg that you did have to be awake for it after all? I'm sorry hon. Hopefully will be a distant memory very soon.

Kathy, Tina and I both had the same anesthesiologist. YES TINA AND I WERE BOTH AWAKE for the NG tube. Thank God DR. Godzilla was quick and we were put out of misery pretty quickly. It probably only lasted a minute or so swab, spray & needle ***** I think it was her choice. Sure wasn''t ours nor was there much time to worry about it. Next thing I knew they were waking me up in recovery. Didn't stay there long either. Went to the room within a half hour. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Oh that is just awful. I can't beleive they would even allow that. I am SO glad however that you didn;t have to stress about it or have much time to worry.

Welcome Home Elissa, I know exactly what you mean about the comfort of your own bed. By the way some guy named Sven keeps knocking on my door to get directions to your place. Stay healthy and tell Charlie to get some sleep. The wait is over now. Your bud with waxed hands, Rob
