Fruit....?
Hi - for the posties - is anyone eating fruit?
I was peeling a banana for a gorgeous red head this morning
And the smell was soooo good. They were pretty small so I figured I could probably eat one - although I have not had any friut since surgery 3 mo ago.
I've had 2 bites - well chewed of course & my tummy feels rumbly and the taste it left in my mouth...well not as good as the smell. And, I know it sounds nuts - but I swear I am getting a headache.
Anyone else with friut experience?
You know what that reminds me.. my 1st month I did use some frozen strawberries in my vanilla shake & that was FINE. How does that taste in lemonade? I just got my Molecular nutrition sample of lemonade.. Hmm I guess I should try it plain for the 1st time but it sounds good with strawberries.
I never trired the banana in shakes but that reminds me that others have done that too. I think you are fine.
How are you feeling?

Hey Kath, I'm feeling...ok. I'm struggling a bit with getting in everything and I'm so thirsty all the time. Emotions....well, they are up and down - I know that's to be expected...
I get frustrated that I started out so good with my weight loss, then it seems like since my official weigh in I can't seem to lose anymore. I know, I know, I need to stay off my scale, but it's so tempting to get some encouragement for my efforts, that I find myself weighing in - sometimes 2-3 times A DAY! I think I'm addicted to the scale...
Pureed foods suck!
Enough whining for now - bet your sorry you asked...
((hugs))
No silly I am not at all sorry I asked! Boy do I remember being thirsty *ALL* the time! For me it seemed to last about 2 months or so - but it does get progressivly better. It will probably never be as bad as it is right now for you. I used to feel thirsty every day all day long - now beleive it or not I go whole days without being thirsty! And the days I do feel thirsty, it doesn't last all day. All you can do is keep trying as best you can, it is hard to get enough in at first. In fact, when I went for my 2nd Post op EGD on 12/21 - I asked Dr. Wynn if we could let the whole fluid bag run in before I went home.. lol.
I was lucky that I could go days without checking the scale - but I'll te;; yo uwhat seems to be very common is about an 18-20 lb loss by the 2 week visit, then not losing much week 3 - but by your 4 week visit another 10 or 12 lbs have come off. That is nothing official - just my observation... Don't worry yor weight loss is going great - have someone hide the scale Ask Karen, I think I threatened to come & get hers... lol.
Now that I don't have another appointment with Wynn until April - I am thinking abotu stopping in there for a weigh in once or twice a month.
CJ,
When I went in for my one month appointment, Brent saw my diet journal. He was very pleased to see the strawberries. Not so pleased to see the sugar free popsicle. *grin* Not that I am an expert, but I have been doing strawberries since very early on without a problem with them. I think they are wonderful.
Hugs,
Tammy
I can't do too much of a banana either. Tried a piece of one with peanut butter in a chocolate shake about 1.5 months out. Did not sit too well at all. I kind of shy away from them still. A small bite here and there, but not much! But I have heard of a lot of people doing real well on them even early out. Sure hope you get to feeling better soon!
Hey, Kath...
I had bananas as one of my first foods pureed in my protein shake. I didn't know I was only supposed to have, like, HALF a one, and I actually put two in the blender. But it went down fine. I've also tried frozen strawberries but had a hard time finding unsweetened (finally found them at Acme).
It was just recently (beginning of Jan) that I tried peaches (in pear juice) but I found myself easily swallowing the slices (without chewing them well) because they're slippery. I haven't tried any other fruits yet.

Peeled apple is not to bad for you in moderation. I have alos had 1 grape (watch the skin), a tiny banana. Oh watermelon and cantaloupe and honeydew are awesome for you. Very low natural sugar and very easy to chew and swallow. Unfortunatly melon season isn't for a few more months......I know what I'll be eating a lot of! Oh melon is also great for regular BMs!! Hope
