Hi, I just signed up here. I've been to one support meeting at PMRI and found it extremely informative. My surgery is scheduled for 4/13/04. I'm not all that 'computer literate' so I'm still trying to figure out all of this profile stuff.

Hey Ken, WELCOME!! Congrat's on your surgery date - time will really fly now!! I know you will find that this site is so supportive and informative. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask! I noticed in your profile that you enjoy cooking - I don't think that will be a problem - you should check out the cooking and baking message board -I know you will find some great recipes there that satisfy! Here's the link http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/member-interests/cooking_baking/ We also have a group on msn - called PMRI WLS Friends http://groups.msn.com/PMRIWLSFriends You may want to check out that group too. Sometimes we get together and chat there and we have a picture gallery too. Welcome!! ((hugs)) Carla

hey ken!!!! this is the best place ever to get answers and support. since you love to cook this should make your journey even better. learning new things to make in the kitchen will be fun. i'm cooking-stupid hahahaha i wish i knew how to cook. i think there is a cooking gene or something...you know...some people just know what kind of herbs and spices to make things taste better. i love my family tooooo much to experiment on them hahahhaa maybe if you come up with some high protein low-fat recipes you will share them to the rest of us who are cooking challenged hahaha

Welcome Ken. This is an awesome group. I started on my WLS journey about a year ago. Monday I'll officially be a post-op. Time does go by so quickly. The past year has given me the chance to do a lot of research and build a great support network. I have many friends I have met on this site and gotten to meet some of them at the PMRI support meetings. I feel very secure knowing that I am doing what is best for me. For my health and quality of life. So hats off to you. Glad you are onboard. Sit back, relax and enjoy the journey. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Welcome Neighbor Ken, Don't know if you remember but my daughter Callie use to play down at your house many years ago. This is a great group and very informative. We have our own sense of pride in helping others get through this journey. Hope everything with your family is going fine. If you and/or your wife want to call or stop by to grill us let me know. I've got books, answers and websites. I had my surgery in October so I have stumbled and leaped through the whole process. Rob October 6, 2003 324-242
