Protein drink
Good morning, everybody!
I have a quick question about the calories in my protein drink...
Trader Joe's chocolate-flavored whey protein powder (which is my latest fav...tastes like chocolate milk!) has 110 calories in powder form and 160 if made w/1/2 cup of skim milk. Therefore, if I make it with one of those little half-pint containers of milk, I'm actually consuming 320 cal a shake... right? Isn't a pint equivalent to two cups? So a half-pint container is 1 cup.. Therefore, three of those a day, I'm at 960 cal just in protein shakes. Is that more than what I should be doing at this point?Maybe I should do that www.fitday.com to add it all up?
Thanx for your input...I was absent the day they taught this in school.
(((hugs)))

ONE shake equals the 110 for the powder = whatever is in a cup of skim milk ( which is usually about 90ish ) so that would be 200 cals. Always add your ingredients together by whats on each individual container rather than what the whey label says the combination would be. ( make sure to take into account serving size )
200 x shakes a day = total cals
FYI when using fitday use the add foods feature and add in your info directly from whatever container of food you're using. Sometimes fitday's data base is WAYY off.
Looks to me more like 600 calories for the 3 shakes depending on what your milk container says.
Hope this makes sense
