Hello Friends!
Thought I would stop by and say hello. I'm doing well. Little bit of pain, but trying not to take the tylenol w/codeine. I need to start pushing the fluids. I'm walking around the house, way to cold to walk outside and practicing my breathing exercises. I wanted to say thanks for all your help and support. Karen, you are the best angel. I really thank you for the updates. Any suggestions for a speedy recovery!
Hi, my little angelette!!!!
I am so glad you're home and feeling good. It's wonderful to be in your own bed and surroundings, isn't it? I came home to a beautifully clean house, fresh linens and plumped pillows, new books/reading materials and a vase of lovely roses. I never felt so special!
I hope you do well with your recovery. I do remember feeling extremely restless the first couple of days. I couldn't concentrate on one activity for longer than 15 minutes, i.e., watching t.v., computer or reading. That soon changed and I could finally relax. I think someone mentioned that it might have been the anesthesia.
Walk, walk, walk...I know it's very cold outside, but it is important for you to get out and get that blood pumping. I would recommend having someone stop by Wal-mart and get you a pedometer (in the sports section, less than $5.00). You can get a good gauge as to how far you're walking, plus it really inspires you to walk a little further each time.
Remember to take sips of your liquids. I was a gulper (esp water) pre-op so it was very hard to SIP. I was so thirsty! But those little medicine cups filled me up...as much as I wanted to gulp. Remember it's important to sip, sip, sip.
Try some frozen sugar-free popsicles to quench your thirst. These really helped with me. And they tasted so good!!
Oh, and don't forget to update your support group!! Seriously, your journey is a very special one to you...but it is also a special one to others. Remember that your experiences may possibly help those after you!
We love ya, girl!!!
(((Hugs)))
