Wow, supportive Christmas!
I just wanted to share...I got some of the most supportive gifts this year! My aunt made me a gift basket filled with all sorts of low carb products from Trader Joes..oh how I love that store! I am not sure who can tolerate any sort of pasta, but the Bella Vita Pasta is EXCELLANT for when you are a bit further out and feeling experimental 3/4 cup is only 1 gram of fat, 10 net carbs because of a whopping 8 grams of fiber and get this.....28 grams of protein! I did find I had to cook it longer than reg pasta to get the consistancy I wanted. I had that with the Bella Vita Low Carb sauce. Oh very tasty stuff indeed.
Also one of the gifts from my parents was a card with money in it telling me it was to sign up for the gastric bypass cooking class PMRI is doing. Then my hubby and kids surprised me with a very nifty GPS! Not sure if any of you are familiar with something called Geocaching...but it's done all over the world and is basically a sort of scavenger hunt using a global positioning device. I have been wanting to do this forever...so hubby tells me you can learn to use this while you recover, then when you are feeling good and can get around better post-op you can use this to go on your adventures!
I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful supportive family ( aside from the inlaws that is lol ) that's ok tho...I just spent my last FAT holiday at my inlaws house for dinner!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday,
Linda
Wow, Linda...that is SO cool! It just go to show how loving and supportive your family is!! My SIL also baked a surprise apple crisp for Christmas dinner (dessert) and I felt so special...she really does care and listen and support me! (Not to mention, it tasted delicious! My FIRST real dessert!)
(((hugs)))
