Portable food and TGI Friday's
I know sometimes we can tolerate things pre-op that won't work after surgery, but I am sitting here eating lunch and thought I'd share lol. I am eating some good old fashioned potted meat. lol I have loved this stuff since I was a kid.
For the Armour brand a 3 oz can is 130 calories and 11 grams of protein. 9 total grams of fat but only 4 of those are saturated and it is smooooth as a baby's butt. Would be really portable too with the poptop can and maybe a few crackers if you can tolerate some. Heck I even eat it with just a spoon.
Also I wanted to tell you all that we stopped at Friday's for dinner yesterday when we were Christmas shopping and I ordered chicken from their new low carb menu. OMG it was VERY good! We had a really nice server and I was telling her that not only a good thing for dieters but that were ALOT of us bypass patients in the area and we will really appreciate having a wider variety of no brainer choices when eating out. I figure we should let these businesses know when something is good that way it will continue to expand and make our lives much easier!

That is funny, Linda! You're talking to another 'closet' potted meat lover! In fact, the whole fam loves it and it's cheap! Although, I used to like it on rye bread with a slice on tomato and extra mayo. Just a few crackers do now.
Another thing that's great for protein are those deviled ham spreads (same thing as potted meat, if u ask me, but a little more expensive).
I find myself going on these 'food kicks'. For instance, my first month, I couldn't get enough of tuna. Tuna here, tuna there, tuna everywhere! Now, my latest kick is cheese and crackers. Practically every day! It goes down well, stay down well and has lots of protein (yes, need to watch the crackers!). I change the variety with different flavored cheeses and crackers.
Anyhow, just thought I'd share.
Thanks for the restaurant info!!
