Cardiac Scare

I posted this on the main board too. Ok, am scared now. The cardiologist himself just called me about testing I had done on Tuesday. Seems my stress test was abnormal. I asked what it could possibly mean. He said it they saw a shadow on the front portion of my heart and are concerned about a potential blockage. I am now being scheduled for a stress echo to be done at the hospital. If that one comes back wrong he wants cardiac cathiterization. I'm worried. Anyone with experience with this you input is greatly appreciated. Linda

L B, I am going through this too. I have talked to several people both on this site and another one who tell me that they had this as well. What they say is that it has to do with being over weight and the amount of fat around your heart. Hopefully for both of us, the next test will come out fine and we can be added to their statistic. I am hopeful. Keep me posted on your progress and best wishes to you. WendyleeG

Hi Wendy, I am really hoping that it is something simple too. What Dr. are you seeing? I am seeing Dr. Furey in Omega center across from the hospital. I liked him well enough but his staff leaves something to be desired. He called me and told me to schedule this stress echo and asked that I call a specific girl in the office, which I did. She told me she had to call the hosp and scedule it and would call me back...she never bothered to call me back. The next day I called her and she says oh, gee, guess I should have called you huh. The hospital has to do it and they will call you...soooo I waited again and heard nothing, then I called the hospital and they had no clue what I was talking about. I explained it and they tell me that the Dr.'s schedule is what matters and they can set me up but have to go thru HIM to know when he's available. UGH so she tries to call this girl at the docs office and she never answered her phone. So I was hurry up and wait all weekend. I called the hosp again today and still nothing had been set up...so they assured me it would be taken care of today and I was to call back tomorrow to be scheduled. I REALLY hate getting the run around. These tests may seem routine to the people in the office that see it all the time but as you know if it's your body it's a different story. I had the opriginal set of tests done off of Limestone Road. the doc said that this one needed to be done at the hosp. Too bad because the Limestone Road experience was a good one. I hope yours is ok too, please let me know what happens and if you have had scheduling problems too. Linda
