I have been feeling kinda of down ever since my 2 month check up. i am sooooooo proud and happy with the weight that i have lost. when i went in for my 2 month check up (i lost 42 pounds at that point), i left with the impression my weightloss wasn't good enough and that i was doing something wrong. i have been doing all the things i am supposed to do and like i said before i was very proud the day i walked into my appointment after loosing 42 pounds. the next day i started to feel angry, i let someone else's opinion of me make me feel bad about myself. i knew i was following everything i was told to the letter..........so why did i feel so badly??? i think alot of people who have had wls think in the backs of their mind that this surgery won't work for them....i didn't think that untill that day of my appointment. i went to the surgery pages of all the people who had wls the same time as i did........ya know what?????? i'm right on track! yes i'm on the slow end, but the pounds are coming off and that is what made my uneasy feelings go away. i'm so glad i have a place to spill my guts (no pun intended) from time to time.

Dear Fran, I have a friend who had the WLS just over a year ago. When she was about 6 months out she had lost in the 70 lbs range. She was a little bummed because she was not losing as fast as she thought others were losing. She tried not to show it, but you could tell that she was feeling really bad about it. But she kept plugging on, and on. And I am here to tell you that, I saw her just the other day and she has now lost 140lbs. She has beat her goal weight and is downright skinny now. She is so happy, she is doing things she never thought possible just a year ago. Her entire life has changed. My friend started out a little "slow" according to the docs, then hit a platue, then took off like a speeding bullet! We are each unique individuals, we put it on differently and we are going to lose it differently! I guess the moral of this story is ... all our bodies are different, we will all lose at different rates, but in the end, what will an extra month mean (if it takes that), when we have an entire lifetime of joy left!!! Hang in there and don't let anyone take that wonderful joy away from you! Those are 42 pounds that are gone forever!!! Hugs, Tammy
