What do you know? (long)

I was cruising around some wls websites and lo and behold I saw a Delaware message board. How wonderful and excitingl! I have been investigating wls for a few years and when I finally decided to have lap band surgery with Dr. Irgau, I was not approved by my insurance company. They consider lap band surgery "experimental and investigational." Sooooo, after overcoming my disappointment and anger, I decided to research Mexican Drs. Much to my surprise, the reviews by patients who had their surgery performed there were very positive. They rave about the cleanliness of the hospitals and the amount of attention given by the nursing staff to each patient. Most of the Drs. have much more experience doing lap bands than U.S. doctors. I am going to Mexico to have lap band surgery with Dr. Ortiz on July 17th. I'm really excited and relieved that I've finally made a decision. He gave me the name of a Dr. in Philly who will do my fills and follow-up. I'm on my way! Susan D.
