my wish list for 2011

as this dreadful yr comes to a close there is only one way for my life to go . . UP

as it has come to my attention, i am dealing with depression and unemployment - 2 popular issues that no one talks about.
i have met many who say they have been here. . yet if they have been here offer NO support.

if you r a member of the "been there done that" club you would know help and support is needed especially if the person is looking for it.

my wish list for 2011

find a "free" place to workout.  especially if there is a pool involved (being unemployed has depleated funds)
have a workout buddy even if it is once a wk
find a support group to deal w arthritis/fibro or alike - to talk to someone who knows anything about waking up stiff, restless leg or general stiffness of life
knows of a place that has free dance lessons. . country preferred

this is my starting list for 2011

for some this is just life, normal stuff but to me. . they are items on a wish list

thanks for reading.

happy holidays.

Well, I'm downstate so can't offer too much help -- but I seem to recall that the YMCA's in Delaware do offer financial assistance towards their membership costs and some classes. Ours here in Sussex County has pool, gym, workout and dance classes, etc.

Here's looking towards a happier 2011!

Hi Cecilia.

I have degenerative joint disease and have slowly been replacing joints (two knee replacements and spinal fussion so I can relate to your pain.  I would love to have a walking buddy, right now I am recovering from my 2nd knee replacement...so maybe in the spring.  I know that the YMCA does give financial assistance..my sister and her family go to the YMCA in Oxford for free.  She was unemployed for 2 years and her new job doesn't pay as well as her previous job. I tried the YMCA on Kirkwood Ave...very nice place...but the heated pool was too cold for my joints.

Also, you may be able to attend college for free or low cost to get new skills.  My sister did that also.

Things will eventually turn around, the trick is to stay positive and to let it be known to everyone that you know that you are looking for a job.  Take care.  I will keep you and your wish list in prayer.

i willbe checking out the y on kirk next wk.  i got approved for medicaid.  the y has fin aid and hopefully i qualify.

at this time, things always change, i do not qualify for funding to "retrain".  standards change like underwear.

i m trying to stay as possitive as no meds can carry me.

Hi Cecilia

Let me know what you think of the Y at Kirkwood.  Last time I checked the water was too cold for me to be able to participate.  I do have a guest pass that I could use when I am released from physical therapy.  Maybe we could meet up for a class.
